Ritual pendulums are used in many forms of divination such as dowsing, spiritual contact, map reading and other divination.  They can be used with an answer board by circling close the surface on the board or they can be used by themselves by asking yes or no questions.  When you first get your pendulum you should first ask a yes and no question, the pendulum will circle one way for yes and the opposite way for no.  All pendulums are different and personal to you so you should first determine how your pendulum will work for you by asking a yes question you know the answer to, wait for the pendulum to circle clockwise or anticlockwise, then ask it a no question you know the answer to and it should circle in the opposite direction.  For the pendulum to give an accurate reading as possible you must make sure that the pendulum is completely still before you ask your question and should be held near the end of the chain to give maximum freedom of movement.
